Originally from South Africa, Dr. Venter graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2004, before moving to Alberta in 2008. Dr. Venter is a Family Physician with a wide range of experiences working as a North Zone Alberta rural frontline physician and physician leader.

Dr. Venter has worked in a multitude of roles throughout her medical career, these previous experiences include, but are not limited to; Community Medical Director (Whitecourt), Deputy Zone Medical Director-North Zone, Alberta, Department Head of Emergency Medicine (Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital, Alberta) and as a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Alberta. Dr. Venter has worked in Emergency Medicine for the majority of her career and most recently, she moved back into the family physician role with focus on whole family health. Her main interests are providing good quality healthcare while still being fiscally responsible.

Dr. Venter believes that patients have an important role to play in ensuring long term health and wellness. Outside of the clinic, she is enjoying all that the Okanagan has to offer with her family.
